Mesothelioma Cancers

Pleural mesothelioma:

Pleural mesothelioma is a tumor, which the lining of the lungs, pleura, or lungs are affected by malignant cells. Pleura is a soft tissue protection that surrounds the lungs into the thoracic cavity. It helps the lungs breathing (respiration) by producing a serous fluid lubricates the pleural surfaces to stay away from the teasing of the lungs against the chest wall. Malignant cells, six times in the pleura, begin to spread and affect the surrounding organs and tissues. This leads to further complications because of pain symptoms and serious.

Mesothelioma affects the pleura are six categories:

Mesothelioma is a deadly form of cancer that affects the serous membranes around the principal organs of the body ie lungs, heart and abdominal organs, the origin of these vital organs to inflate with excessive fluid. This fluid causes other organs to malfunction. The only known cause of this cancer is exposure to asbestos. In this disease, malignant cells built in protective linings (serous membranes) of several internal organs called the mesothelium. Various organs in the abdominal cavity may be affected by mesothelioma because of the presence of trim around them. The most common types of mesothelioma include:

* The pleural mesothelioma

* Peritoneal mesothelioma and

* The pericardial mesothelioma.

Diffuse and malignant (cancerous):

This is the severe form of mesothelioma affects the pleura of the lungs and surrounding organs.

Localized and benign (not cancerous):

This is a non-cancerous mesothelioma that affects all body parts with the exception of the pleura. However, contracted the lungs, causing breathing difficulties, and in some severe cases, pneumothorax (lung failure).

Peritoneal mesothelioma:

peritoneal mesothelioma is a tumor of the peritoneal membrane lining the abdomen, affecting many organs in the abdominal cavity, including the stomach. This form of mesothelioma cancer is less common than the pleural form but is more aggressive, causing severe symptoms and short life expectancy. Like many other cancers, peritoneal mesothelioma can also be malignant or benign.

Pericardial mesothelioma:

Pericardium or pericardial mesothelioma is the rarest form of cancer, with less than 10% of cases of mesothelioma. In this form of cancer, fluid accumulates in the sac around the heart. The main cause of this disease is the inhalation of asbestos fibers.

Because of the rarity of the disease, doctors and researchers, not well understood how the asbestos fibers in the heart lining or pericardium. The only logical explanation so far on this type of cancer is the possibility of asbestos fibers, converted into small pieces and transported from the lungs to the heart through the bloodstream. Six times the asbestos fibers in the heart, the tissue expanding into the thoracic cavity and pericardium with excessive fluid, disrupting the work of the heart, causing chest pain with difficulty breathing.

Each year about 2,000 new mesothelioma cases diagnosed. At some point in their life, patients with mesothelioma were exposed to asbestos, which causes later hideous cancer mesothelioma. If at any time in your life, worked in an environment rich in asbestos or asbestos materials used, you should consult a physician for a diagnosis of mesothelioma and best treatment options possible.
